THIRUVANANTHAPURAM


Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of the State and the headquarters of the district, is well connected by air, rail and road. Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple, the Kanakakkunnu Palace, the Observatory, the Science and Technology Museum, the Government Secretariat, the Kowdiar Palace, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, the Tagore Centenary theatre and the Museum, Thiruvananthapuram Zoo, Happyland Amusement park, etc. are some of the tourist attractions in the city.

AGASTYAKOODAM


Agastyakoodam is 70 km from Thiruvananthapuram. The place is famous for its abundant ayurvedic herbs and medicinal plants. Another major attraction of this spectacular peak is the Neelakurinji, a flower which blooms only once in twelve years. A forest pass has to be obtained from the Wildlife Warden at the Forest Department for trekking.

SHANGUMUGHAM


Shangumugham Beach is a beach in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, south India. The beach is on the western side of Thiruvananthapuram city and very near to Trivandrum International Airport. The vast stretch of white sand and the serene atmosphere, away from the crowd in the city, provide all the ingredients for relaxation and for spending an ideal evening.The sculpture of Jalakanyaka - Mermaid by Kanayi Kunhiraman is an added attraction. This giant statue is more than 35m long.
